My Journey
A Broad Clinical Background
I'm Dr Junaid Khan, a medical practitioner with a broad clinical background spanning surgery, emergency medicine, and general practice — now proudly serving the Drouin community.
Originally from Pakistan, I completed my MBBS in 2017 and internship in 2018. During my final year of medical school in 2016, I undertook a Clinical Attachment at the Royal Melbourne Hospital — an experience that introduced me to the Australian healthcare system and inspired my decision to build my career here.
Following my internship, I entered advanced postgraduate surgical training through the FCPS program, gaining extensive experience across General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Orthopaedics, and Neurosurgery. This gave me a strong foundation in clinical assessment, procedural skills, and acute care.
Since 2023, I have worked in Emergency Medicine across Queensland and Victoria. I currently work as a Career Medical Officer with Bayside Health Regional and as a General Practitioner at Civic Park Consulting Suites.

Skin Cancer Detection & Management
I have undertaken additional Australian qualifications and training in skin cancer medicine and surgery. I provide comprehensive skin checks with dermoscopy, assessment of concerning lesions, biopsies, diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing surveillance. Where appropriate, I also perform surgical excision and reconstruction of skin cancers.
Paediatric Health
Comprehensive, gentle care for children of all ages — from routine developmental checks and immunisations through to managing common childhood illnesses.
Chronic Disease Management
Supporting patients with long-term conditions through regular review, care planning, and practical guidance to help them live well.
Minor Surgical Procedures
My surgical background allows me to offer a range of in-clinic procedures for non-skin-cancer conditions, including cyst removal, abscess management, ingrown toenail procedures, wound management, suturing, and more.

My experience across surgery, emergency medicine, and general practice has taught me the importance of combining clinical knowledge with careful assessment, clear communication, and practical decision-making. Whether I am helping someone manage a chronic condition, assessing a concerning skin lesion, or performing a minor procedure — my goal is to make every patient feel heard, informed, and involved in their care.
I also believe that medicine is a profession of lifelong learning. I continuously seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills so that I can provide my patients with the highest standard of care possible.
